Dependable Friend

In and out time swiftly glides by, Sometimes we run to him and others we hide.

There remains within the mystery of his soul, Many repeating stories yet to be retold.

The irony between love, life and himself Is an ever changing perspective on that we call wealth.

Few things are constant and even fewer are true, Continuously battling familiar traditions with new.

Yet on and on he continues to run, Mimicking that of the rising sun.

Predictable he most certainly is not, The most translucent one you ever have sought.

He bends and he moves as fluently as the wind, Like a soft gentle kiss from a dependable friend.

To each one he is irreplaceable in the sacredness of heart, Not always working together but never far apart.

Our Maker has given us a predetermined lot To spend with our friend, wasting him not.

Yet on and on he continues to grow, Testing our hearts both high and low.

Many of us have much to confess, Not moving forward we have chosen to regress.

Justification is not his companion, Deceitfulness breathes us left for abandon.

Seeking his warmth we shall forever strive, With him on our side we feel forever alive.

There lies the potential of telling it well, His story with a hope that shall not fail.

In and out time swiftly glides by, Sometimes we run to him and others we hide.
